Frankly; this type of childish shit pisses me off. He's being fairly hypocritical with his demands for fairness and proper policy while attacking the staff and community with his words. Biased or not, the effect remains. The question is, what exactly are we doing about something like this? From what I do know, Pie has been dancing on the edge of "Okay" and "Almost bannable" for some time with all of his recent observable actions. They've all come out to be attacks, either personal or toward groups of players.
Giving him a temp ban or such at this point would be a bit much, and I'm sure he'd love to victimize himself with it. What, do we as staff, think about this situation? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I gazed up at the sable-haired maiden with eyes so full of warmth it appeared she was crying silently. My trecherous mouth opened, "Why do you look so troubled, Princess?"
Slowly, she moved her eyes from the moon to me. She studied my imperfections before her for what seemed to be a blissful eternity before gracing me with her voice, "I've slain this land's only prince. What use, now, is a princess?"
@remi It's probably best that you didn't reply, it seems to us he's trying to get all the ammo he can get from us. We think his goal is to try and call us out and get the community at our necks (or to just leave). So right now we need to try and act professional and prove we aren't the ban mongering hypocrites he claims us to be.
I probably should have put up the decisions we had at the Emergency meeting. Namely Nazrin talking to muffin about his post in that thread, and trying to clear up the situation, because Muffin is really the only backing that Mami has. The Idea was to compose a post after all that had happened explaining why jessie dealt with like he was. Satori your post was pretty good, but we probably should have kept you in the loop about what we were planning. Can't be undone now. We also agreed that we were going to be more light on the perm bans.
I think we've already done pretty well to defuse that thread. I wasnt' at the meeting but in addition to lightening up on the perma bans i think we should also use other methods of punishment. Problem is i don't think anyone other than admins can use the mute command (could be wrong)
Also for future reference to avoid giving people ammo as shimi put it, A: Don't post a response if you're angry or if you feel like anything you post will come out aggressive. Not trying to be bossy or rude but people are prone to do things they later regret when they're angry.
Think most things that I have to say have already been said. One thing that I do have to say tough is that I'm a bit iffy on going more light on the perm bans. The perm bans are our chance to talk to the offender and sort out what happened. I think one of the problems at the moment however is that people are a bit scared that we are dead serious and don't want you on the server again when they see that they have been perm banned. My idea is to lower the default it to a temp ban, but still make it feel like it's worth it to appeal. maybe something between 3-4 weeks would be enough, depending on the severity, sometimes using 2 weeks if it's a light offense. At the same time change the name of unappealable bans to perm bans. It's not like they aren't appealable anyway.
For PR sake. I suggest we leave him alone. Doing that would give a public perception that he alone has issues, and we stay clean. If we argue with him, it's only going to drag us down to his level, but if he's the only one doing the attacks, he's just wrecking his credibility. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Honestly, Captain's post was level headed, and Mami's just trying to twist things, not paying attention to any time frame concerning when he received the information, when we might have known he was spoken to, and when he himself posted. Mami is not worth our time or anger. Most, if not all of the server will/can see what an idiot he's being, and if they can't, in all honesty my love for those that can't is as much as my love for mami.
Mami has always been a immature brat in my eyes. But I don't think it's our responsibility to right his misconceptions. Like the other said, leaving him to his own hypocrisy might hopefully be his just dessert.
